This family enterprise began in 1928 when Charles Romanello and his brother-in-law transformed a dry goods store into a small neighborhood bar and restaurant. The business acquired the name Roseland after Charles' eldest daughter Rose.

Mr. Joseph Romanello joined his father in the restaurant business in 1931. At that time, the restaurant was noted for its hospitality and congenial atmosphere.

In 1963, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Romanello joined the family business, incorporating her own recipes and contributing to the transformation of Roseland into a full-service restaurant.

A third generation of Romanellos - Joseph, John and James, carry on the Italian tradition today. Fine food, professional service, atmosphere and incomparable hospitality can still be found at Romanello's South and Romanello's Old Orchard Inn.
